Say ... it ain't so, Joe?

A $200 million payroll will buy you a lot of things, but apparently not another season for Joe Torre.

Despite four World Series titles in 11 seasons, the New York Yankees are ready to fire Torre as soon as Sunday, one day after losing to Detroit in four games of the AL division series. Retread and noted Steinbrenner ass-kisser Lou Piniella will likely be Torre's replacement.
